Wow, what a super response to my 'Finest Lace' sunset yesterday, thank you all so much. Several commented on the way I had mounted the shot so, I thought I've give you a quick insight.
I use 'Aperture' as my main workflow tool, most things I set out to do are easily and quickly achievable. i have a freebie plug-in app called BorderFX, which I hadn't bothered with much as I am used to uploading to smug and then presenting in Picnic'. I was getting a itchy feet and saw a demo version of onOne's suite as an aperture plug-in so I thought I'd give it a try, full of frames that seem to invade the original image and more time consuming. Back to BorderFX, I toyed around and realised it's simplicity but most of all it has a save setting as a preset feature so once I found setting that I wanted Hey Presto, I can replicate then almost at the touch of a button.
A few 'smuggers' have been discussing using layers and texture layers, I promised myself having collected a gallery's worth,(see http://smu.gs/wcRTj1) I would be experimenting over the winter months so this is the first of those attempts. A beach scene from Saltfleet merged with a sunset. I love the work of artist 'Lawrence Coulson' and 'Debra Stroud' and wanted to create something similar. ( Photoshop elements 9 used for layering)
