I'd like to share this with you, my photo journal. Each day I'll post an image capturing something I've seen worthy of record. Showing to the World wide web, perhaps even printing to hang on a wall or be used commercially (wishful thinking). Some days I'll draw on shots taken then edited and get creative, others will be straight out of the camera (sooc) If you like what you see please press the green thumb or leave a comment, maybe a suggestion how an image might be improved. You can now purchase prints, merchandise, downloads etc. For further information contact me phil@philnix.me. Thank you for looking PJN.

19/3/12 'Pole dancing!'
Finally a splash of sunshine after a whole week of dull, misty weather (See weather pic taken in the morning http://smu.gs/yLmuKj). Since introducing a Nyjer seed feeder into my garden a few weeks ago I've been treated to a wonderful display of goldfinches. Yesterday I moved their feeder to a position just outside my kitchen window so I'm now able to get much closer to them.
Thank you for your wonderful comments on my horse close-up and my mothering sunday image yesterday, mum was very pleased.
"Across the fields of barley" - Sting
For my Mum on Mother's Day
18/3/12 "A horse with no name" - D. Bunnell rec. 'America'
Think I'll call her 'Misty' !
Making the most of a whole week of dull foggy weather, this beautifully marked mares inquisitive character enabled me to get some great close-ups.

17/3/12 "Lord of the Dance"

St Patrick's Day - I love taking shot of this gnarled tree standing alone in a field near Biscathorpe. We've had nothing but mist & fog all week, I felt a strong ambience of the cleric in this image and could imagine the base of the tree being the location for a little ginger haired shoemaker's crock of gold.
A very late post for me due to the smug mug down time.
16/3/12 'The poet and the pheasant' - von Suppe (slight disambiguation)
Ok, I added the letter H in the title to bring this into my current 'Song title' series but I fell in love with this classical overture when I studied music at University. It sounded so familiar and of course it was, made popular by Mickey mouse and Anda Panda. This is my second Pip's eye-view shot taken looking through the hedgerow. Pheasants are very brave at this time of year, safe in the knowledge they will not be blasted out of the sky until September!
My alternative post today is another bird close-up but this time on my clothes line see - http://smu.gs/AA4Hn6
15/3/12 "It takes two, baby" - Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston
'As mad as a March Hare' - On my way home from Louth across the wolds, Pip loves to run alongside the car for a couple of miles of so. When I pull over to get a photo, he explores the hedgerows and farm tracks. Unfortunately I didn't get closer to these two as Pip decided to turn greyhound! See the country road I use here - http://smu.gs/zXUIgY
14/3/12 "Where have all the flowers gone?"
Another dull day!
13/3/12 "Kissing in the back row of the movies" - The Drifters
"Your mama says that through the week
you can't go out with me
but when the weekend comes around
she knows where we will be"
The British Thompson Houston projector in the Playhouse cinema, Louth. circa 1950's.(i think)
See http://smu.gs/zg8udT for a shot of the lens and backstory
12/3/12 "Behind closed doors" Charlie Rich/ Kenny O'Dell
These Hangar doors would have been my "green door" shot but for the magnificent reflection of the setting sun. Steeped in history RAF Binbrook was one of the locations used in the making of the epic film 'Memphis Belle'. See - http://www.airsceneuk.org.uk/oldstuff/belle/belle.htm
